1.

2.

Minutes of the last meeting, held 7th July 2009 were approved as a fair reflection of the meeting, and the Chairman was authorised to sign them.

 

3.

Matters Arising

 

 

a)

Website.  The clerk is continuing to liaise with NALC over the development of the site.

b)

Condition of The Street road surface. The surface has now had remedial work undertaken.  Completed.

 

 

c)

Drain outside Crow Hall Farm.  Highways are investigating the establishing a new electricity supply to the pump.

d)

Bridge at Gooderstone Road. A full briefing of the progress of the proposal to introduce a 7.5 tonne weight limit was given by the Chairman.

 

 

 

i)

It was agreed that the Clerk would write to our MP to seek his assistance in this matter.

ii)

It was also agreed that those present would provide any further ideas for reducing the damage likely to be caused to the village by this proposal by Friday 11th September.  Ideas agreed at the meeting were to improve the provision of passing places on the alternative routes into the village, clearing the edges of all roads back to the original road surface area, cutting back hedges, and reinforcing roadside banks that were being eroded.

e)

Playing Field Boundary. Cllr. Boughen gave an update on progress with the clearance of the hedges.  Some strimming had been undertaken by him, and further work was being planned with Mr. Cater.

f)

Clerks Training.  The clerk would book a days training once the new dates were announced by NALC.

g)

EACH request for a donation.  A letter explaining why Gooderstone PC could not contribute had been sent and a reply received.  Completed.

 

 

h)

Annual Accounts Submission.  Completed

 

 

i)

Chalkrow Lane Street Signs.  The current street sign says Chalk Row Road.  The Ordinance Survey Map says Chalkrow Lane. The register of electors refers to it as Chalk Row.

i)

A motion to use the name Chalkrow Lane was proposed by Cllr. Scotney, seconded by Cllr. Adcock and passed.  This was subject to advice to be received from Breckland DC.

 

 

 

ii)

If the name on the road sign was to be changed from the present one the Clerk would write to all occupants informing them of the change.

 

 

j)

Breckland DC Planning Open Day.  The Councillors who attended, Ann Melhuish and Maeveen Scotney, reported that Capita Symonds seemed to have good systems and people in place.
