1.

2.

Minutes of the last meeting, held 5th May 2009 were approved as a fair reflection of the meeting, and the Chairman was authorised to sign them.

 

3.

Matters Arising

 

 

a)

Website.  The clerk met with NALC to discuss the site – they promised to review the process for establishing a Parish Council website.

b)

Condition of The Street road surface – No further action has been taken to correct the present state of the road surface on The Street.  It was agreed that the Clerk would draft a letter for the Council to send to the Highway Authority.

c)

Parish Councillor Vacancy – Declaration of Interests have been sent to Breckland District Council. Completed.

 

 

d)

Boundary Committee Proposals – Clerk has responded to the request for consultation.  Completed.

 

 

e)

Drain outside Crow Hall Farm.  The responsibility for this drain is with the Highways Authority.  They are reviewing the present drainage arrangements, and would like to inspect the pump.  Cllr Melhuish will try to confirm with Mr. C Knights that he is prepared to meet with the Highways Authority and show them the present installation.  Cllr Melhuish will let the Clerk know the outcome for him to take the next actions.

f)

Bridge at Gooderstone Road – there has been no progress in the planning application for a weight limit on this bridge.

g)

Playing Field Boundary – Following a general discussion and exploration of various options and timings, it was decided that Cllr Boughen would coordinate a team to help clear the boundary hedges, following the generous offer by Mr. Cator to provide the equipment and operator required to undertake the work.

h)

Clerks Salary – The Clerk has confirmed that the salary increase voted for has been declined.  It was agreed that as an alternative a days training for the Clerk would be provided.

 

4.

Correspondence

 

 

a)

EACH Donation request – It was decided that the Parish Council could not afford to make a donation to this worthy cause.  There are an increasing number of requests for donations and it is not possible to contribute to them all.  The Clerk to write to EACH.

b)

Boundary Committee Update – The Chair brought the Council up to date with recent developments.

 

 

c)

Clerks Bursary Scheme.  It was proposed by Cllr Boughen and Seconded by Cllr Melhuish that the Clerk should apply for a suitable days training course and take advantage of the Bursary scheme to receive a grant for half of the cost.
