Apologies – None.

 

2.

Minutes of the last meeting, held 3rd March 2009 were approved as a fair reflection of the meeting, and the Chairman was authorised to sign them.

 

3.

Matters Arising

 

 

a)

Breckland District Council Planning Department advise that there is no legal obligation from a planning viewpoint for Latimer Estates to be required to fence the Chalk Pit.

 

 

b)

Freedom of Information Act. The clerk is meeting with Norfolk Association of Local Councils to continue the development of the website.

c)

Foulden Road edges and drainage - This work is now completed.

 

 

d)

Foulden Road Village Sign - All three village signs have now been replaced.

 

 

e)

Water on road at the bridge at the west end of The Street, and Chalk Row - This work is now completed.

 

 

f)

Condition of The Street road surface - Further consultation is being undertaken between the contractor and the Highways team.

g)

Bartlett's hedge. The offending piece of hedge had been removed.

 

 

h)

Car parking at 1 Crow Farm Cottages. There are still occasional transgressions - the clerk will visit if appropriate. It was noted that cars parking on the pavement is a village-wide problem.

 

 

i)

Rural Services Network - we had joined this network and information was being received.

 

 

j)

The Green Summit. A report back on this summit was received from Trevor Brooks.

 

 

k)

Norfolk Accident Rescue - a letter of acknowledgement of our donation had been received.

 

 

l)

Parish Councillor Vacancy - Martin Lovegrove had been co-opted onto the Parish Council with effect from Tuesday 5th May prior to the annual meeting. Clerk to forward Declaration of Interests to Breckland District Council.

Correspondence

 

 

a)

Boundary Committee Proposals Two new proposals have been made within the remit given by the government -

•   one authority for Norfolk, or

•   one authority for Norwich and one for the rest of the county.

The Parish Council requested the Clerk to respond to the consultation on behalf of the Parish Council in favour of the second option above.

b)

Stop the Drop - There was not felt to be a need to organise a clean up of litter within the village and its environs.
