Correspondence

 

 

a)

Rural Services Network – the aims and objectives of this organisation were discussed and it was unanimously agreed that the Parish Council should join and receive its free information packs.

The Green Summit – two councillors expressed a wish to attend the summit – Cllrs. Brooks and Scotney.  Clerk to send application form.

c)

The Gold Summit – no councillors expressed a wish to attend this summit which focussed on helping establish businesses within communities.

 

 

d)

Tribute Weekend Information Request – this was discussed and various councillors and attendees expressed an interest in contacting the PCC to help.

 

 

e)

Town and Parish Council Forum – no Councillors expressed a wish to attend this.

 

 

f)

Norfolk Accident Rescue – the work of this organisation was discussed and councillors agreed to make a donation of £50 to help them.

Local Development Framework

 

 

a)

Settlement Boundary.  An update is awaited from Breckland District Council.

a)

No incidents had been reported since the last meeting.

 

7.

Planning

 

 

a)

Site opposite Old Farm – application withdrawn.

 

 

b)

Land at rear of Orchard House – returned to Breckland District Council with comments concerning the possibility of future building development.

 

8.

Cheques for Authorisation

 

 

a)

School Room Hire.

 

 

b)

Peter Hall – Clerks fees.

 

 

All cheques were approved and authorised, Clerk to distribute.

Any Other Business

 

 

a)

Parish Councillor Vacancy – Notification had been received that the Council could co-opt a new councillor as soon as practicable before 23rd April.

b)

Annual Meeting will be held on the 5th May in the School at 7pm.  It would include Annual Reports from the Parish Council, the School, the Fen Charity, the Amenities and the Play Equipment Group.

 

 

c)

The volume of cars parked outside and around the school recently has been making driving through the village difficult.  This has previously been reported to both the Highways team and the Police; however both advised that the parking was legal and that no action could or should be taken.

 

 

d)

Dog fouling.  It was reported that further incidents of dogs fouling the pavements had been occurring.  All residents were reminded that if they could identify which dog owners were responsible they should report the matter to the Clerk or a councillor who would ensure that the Dog Warden took action.
