Minutes of the last meeting, held 12th January 2009 were approved as a fair reflection of the meeting, and the Chairman was authorised to sign them.

 

3.

Matters Arising

 

 

a)

The Planning application for the litter bin by the village sign appears to have gone astray.  Councillors voted unanimously to not re-apply and review the need for this in the future if required.

 

 

b)

Latimer Estates are reviewing this and want to know if the Parish Council regard then as having a legal obligation to fence the pit.  Clerk to contact the Planning Department at BDC to seek advice.

Freedom of Information Act

 

 

 

i.

The clerk is meeting with BDC to continue the development of the website

The Parish Council records have now been reviewed and restructured

 

 

d)

Foulden Road edges and drainage – This work will now be done by the Highways team in the new financial year.

 

 

e)

Foulden Road Village Sign- all three village signs will now be replaced, including the missing one at the east end of The Street.  The signs have been made and are awaiting installation.

f)

Water on road at the bridge at the west end of The Street – On the south side of the bridge a temporary clearing of two gullies has taken place; but a re-dig of the gullies and some tree cutting will have to be done in the new financial year.  On the north side both ditches require reinstating.  In Chalk Row further investigations are required – again in the new financial year.

g)

Condition of The Street road surface – Further consultation is being undertaken between the contractor and the Highways team.  The road has been recently swept again.

h)

Bartlett’s hedge.  The Clerk met with Bartlett’s manager and he will cut the hedge along that side of the road.

Car parking at 1 Crow Farm Cottages.  There are still occasional transgressions – the clerk will visit if appropriate .

Financial Inclusion and Strategy Plan.  No comments were passed to the clerk from Councillors.

 

 

k)

St. George’s Church Lawnmower appeal – The agreed donation has been sent a gratefully acknowledged.

 

 

l)

Pride in Breckland Awards – no nominations had been made by Councillors.

 

 

m)

Bottle Bank collections – the new arrangements seemed to be working satisfactorily.
