Correspondence

 

 

a)

CAB Annual Appeal.  It was unanimously agreed that the Parish Council would not contribute as this was not our local CAB and we had not previously supported this organisation with donations

 

 

b)

Financial Inclusion and Strategy Plan.  The concept behind this was briefly discussed.  Councillors to return any comments for the consultation to the Clerk by 12th February

c)

St. George’s Church Lawnmower appeal.  It was unanimously agreed that the Parish Council would support this and donate 50%, £200.00, toward the cost of the new mower

Pride in Breckland.  Any councillors who wished to make a nomination for these awards should complete the application form in the pack

e)

Norfolk Police Authority Open Meeting re Budget 2009/10.  No councillors expressed a wish to attend this event

 

 

f)

The Chairman announced that Jill Smith had tendered her resignation as a Councillor.  The Council expressed its thanks to her for the help that she had given during her time as a councillor.  Breckland Council to be notified of the vacancy and the normal procedure will be advised by them

 

5.

Local Development Framework

 

 

a)

Settlement Boundary.  The proposal for a revision to the Settlement Boundary had been agreed by the sub-committee and submitted to Breckland Council.  The Chairman read out the letter received from them.  The proposal developed by the sub-committee was made available for viewing at the meeting

 

6.

Street Lighting

 

 

a)

The light outside 1 Elm Place had finally been repaired although the subcontractors had not done this at the first time of asking

 

7.

Planning

 

 

a)

The proposal for the site opposite Old Farm had been commented on by Councillors and the comments sent to Breckland.  No further information was to hand at present

 

8.

Cheques for Authorisation

 

 

a)

School Room Hire.

 

 

b)

CGM – Play Area Maintenance

 

 

All cheques were approved and authorised, Clerk to distribute.

Any Other Business

 

 

a)

Condition of The Street road surface.  It was reported that the Highways Authority had swept the surface of the road twice, as requested.  They had visited the site last Friday (9th) with the contractor.  They had been asked to sweep the pavements and review what steps were needed to ensure that the road surface was satisfactory to the Highways Authority specification

b)

Bottle Bank collections.  Mrs. Sutterby volunteered to notify the Contractor when the recycle bin is full.  Clerk to provide signs asking people not to leave their glass when the bins are full

c)

It was reported that the Fen Charities monies would be distributed once the income had all been received

 

 

d)

It was requested that the Parish Council Meetings be rescheduled to the first Tuesday in the month rather than the first Monday.  This was discussed and agreed.  Clerk to ensure that he School Hall will be available
