Apologies – None.

Minutes of the last meeting, held 3rd November 2008 were approved as a fair reflection of the meeting, and the Chairman was authorised to sign them.

Matters Arising

 

 

a)

The purchase and installation of the rubbish bin outside the school is still awaiting return of Planning permission

b)

The Poppy Wreath was placed on the War Memorial on the 11th November

 

 

c)

Elm Place Chalk Pit fence.  This has continued to deteriorate.  Clerk to liaise with Latimer Estates to try to find a solution

d)

Completion of Annual Audit – the notice had been displayed for the required period

 

 

e)

Register of Electors – all councillors had received their copy

 

 

f)

Litter picking service – clerk had written and declined the offer

 

 

g)

Freedom of Information Act

i.

the appropriate notice had been published on the notice board

 

 

 

ii.

the website has been established but a lot of work is required to enable it to provide a useful service

 

 

 

iii.

no action has yet been taken on organising the Parish Council records

 

 

h)

Budget 2009/10 – this has been submitted

 

 

i)

Foulden Road edges and drainage – it was reported that this work should be undertaken by the Highways authority within the next 6 weeks

Foulden Road village sign – this had been ordered by the Highways authority and should be in place in the next month

k)

Water on road at the bridge at the west end of The Street – it was reported that there was no existing drainage design for this area.  The Highways authority were designing a system, to include the junction with Chalk Row, and once approved would implement it to try to solve this problem

l)

Bartlett’s hedge.  The precise location of the overgrowing hedge was identified – the Clerk to contact Bartlett’s and ask them to cut it

m)

Future outdoor events at the Swan.  Although overtaken by recent events, the Clerk had obtained agreement from the then tenants that future such events would be pre-notified to local residents

 

 

n)

Car parking at 1 Crow Farm Cottages.  The situation had improved although there was still some parking on the pavement
